Overview
Position Duties
Kahoot ! is looking for a Senior Web Game Developer to join us on an adventure to develop the next generation of math learning experiences.
We are looking for a user centered, structured, and energetic developer with a passion for learning and enthusiasm for creating products that kids will love.
Your responsibilities
- Actively participating in design and product meetings, as well as contributing to the wider development team discussion.
- Gameplay development and animation implementation.
- UI development in React.
- Working with audio engineers to implement sound and music effects.
Candidate Profile
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in web development, with commercial experience in TypeScript and React.
- Commercial experience with PixiJS or other WebGL / WebGPU rendering frameworks.
- A good understanding of animation techniques using libraries like GSAP and Spine.
- Strong communication skills. We have a hybrid working set up, and our team is multidisciplinary and multicultural.
- An eye for process and structure, and experience using version control.
You'll fit right into our team and culture with any of the following:
- Experience with game feel, using feedback like animation, particles, and sounds to add game juice and make satisfying player experiences.
- A good understanding of game development patterns.
- Experience working on a large codebase with many contributors.
- Interest in education and pedagogy.
- Experience with multiplayer gaming with web sockets.
